BASQUEVOLT today announced the appointment of Nicolò Campagnol as Chief Program Officer (CPO). In this role, he will lead BASQUEVOLT’s global customer programs team, supporting partners as they integrate the company’s solid-state battery technology from early validation through pre-industrial development and future commercial deployment.
Dr. Campagnol brings a unique combination of scientific expertise in advanced materials and strategic experience across the global battery industry. He holds a PhD in electrochemistry and conducted academic research on advanced functional materials and electrochemical systems at institutions including Massachusetts Institute of Technology and KU Leuven.
Prior to joining BASQUEVOLT, he worked at McKinsey & Company, where he advised companies across the battery value chain - including automotive manufacturers, battery producers, and materials suppliers - on battery technologies, supply chains, gigafactory investments, and energy transition strategies. He also founded and led Battery Insights, McKinsey’s battery market intelligence platform, which analyzes global battery market dynamics, technology developments, and gigafactory expansion.
Combining experience in advanced research, strategic consulting, and industry ecosystem development, Dr. Campagnol has worked at the intersection of technology and business to support organizations in bringing next-generation energy technologies from innovation to large-scale deployment.
At BASQUEVOLT, he will oversee customer-facing technology programs, coordinating cross-functional teams across R&D, engineering, and industrial development to support the successful integration and scaling of the company’s solid-state battery technology.
“Nicolò combines deep expertise in advanced materials with a strong understanding of the battery ecosystem and its commercialization pathways,” said Pablo Fernández Santos, Managing Director of BASQUEVOLT. “His experience will be instrumental as we continue expanding our customer collaborations and advancing toward industrial deployment.”
