BASQUEVOLT kicks off EIC Accelerator project to drive solid-state battery electrolyte technology in Europe
BASQUEVOLT has officially kicked off its European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator project, marking a major milestone in the company’s mission to accelerate the development and industrialisation of solid-state battery electrolyte technology in Europe.
Selected by the European Commission’s EIC Accelerator programme, BASQUEVOLT is receiving strategic support and €2.5 million grant to advance the next generation of solid-state batteries. In addition, the company may be eligible for up to €10 million in equity investment from the EIC programme in its next capital raising round.
The EIC Accelerator is one of the most competitive funding instruments in Europe, supporting breakthrough innovations with high impact potential. BASQUEVOLT’s participation underlines its role as a strategic European player in the energy transition and the future of sustainable mobility.
Yesterday, our R&D Director and CTO, Vincent Giordani, participated as a speaker at the Batteries Event 2025 in Lyon, France. During his presentation, he introduced the BASQUEVOLT project supported by the EIC Accelerator to a wider audience and shared his insights on next-generation batteries and solid-state battery technology.
Vincent highlighted our lithium metal technology and the advantages of our polymer electrolyte, presenting key results from cycle life tests on both NMC and LFP cells, as well as outcomes from critical safety tests including nail penetration, thermal stability, and overcharge tests for 20Ah and 16Ah cells.
His presentation demonstrated how BASQUEVOLT’s high-performance Gen4 technology is helping to eliminate the remaining barriers to full electrification.
