BASQUEVOLT to start delivering the first cells to global automotive and aviation players

  • The company has started the 3rd party testing and the delivery of its first 20Ah pouch cells to selected strategic partners and potential customers.
  • This milestone validates BASQUEVOLT‘s breakthrough lithium metal cell technology and its groundbreaking energy density (450 Wh/kg with NMC and 300 Wh/kg with LFP), while at the same time bringing a significant cost reduction versus current lithium ion batteries.
  • Entering into the pre-qualification phase with selected partners provides an invaluable collaboration to accelerate the market entry of the most advanced European battery technology.

In just two years, the company has been able to progress very fast and achieve a remarkable level of technology maturity. Six months ago, we began assembling the first 20Ah cells in our brand-new A-Sample pilot line located in our headquarters located in the Álava Technology Park and today we are ready to start delivering the first cells to selected partners.

This marks a significant step forward in our mission to disrupt the battery industry with a breakthrough technology that accelerates the democratization of electric mobility and ultimately improving lives around the world.

We´re excited to deliver these cells and confident they will lead to future collaborations to push the boundaries of electric mobility, and to position Europe as the global leader of the post lithium-ion technology.

Further partnerships will be announced in the coming months, and we look forward to seeing the impact of our innovation on the industry as we continue this journey of growth.

“Lithium batteries need a very significant breakthrough in electrochemistry to move further in the society electrification. For mobility applications, the weight of battery packs must be cut by at least 30% over the next five years to make transportation more affordable, efficient and environmentally friendly” - Francisco Carranza, CEO BASQUEVOLT.
