Schneider Electric, Basquevolt and the Catalan company COMEXI will collaborate in the development of high-precision machinery for finishing batteries, thus contributing significantly to strengthening the European supply chain against major Asian competitors.
This is an agreement reached within the framework of the UPCELL alliance (European Battery Manufacturing Alliance), of which the three companies are part and whose main objective is to strengthen the competitiveness of European manufacturers of electric batteries, in a context that is increasingly polarized between China and the US.
"This collaboration benefits the entire European ecosystem of battery manufacturers," states Pablo Fernández, Basquevolt´s Chief Engineering and Programs Officer, adding that "the machinery developed by COMEXI and Schneider will provide cutting-edge solutions fundamentally oriented towards fourth-generation batteries that will allow our company to have the best equipment for the pilot line that will be launched in 2025”.
